3 days of work @ Mediacorp

last fri had dinner with the girls and the person from MC called again, telling me that the position Assistant Producer (AP) is put on hold and she wondered whehter i cld go down for 2-3 days part time admin job instead.

well, y not? aint got things to do anw.

1st day - went down there and was introduced to the person-in-charge; was sooo nervous (i dunno y!) when all i nd to do is jus do admin job... i kept imagining the ppl there being mean to me haha. but it was ok overall, they bo chap me while i jus do my work. most of em are english speakers there, n i felt so distant from em haha. well it's not tt i dun speak english, it's jus tt the way u speak ur singaporean broken eng sounds so odd out of their fluent eng, which makes mi pretty self-conscious when i opened my mouth.

bcos i'm onli a part-timer, so i get visitor pass instead of the real pass!

anw met the current AP there and she brought me to lunch during lunch break. she's pretty friendly, and she filled me in with some info about this AP job. oh, and i saw one artiste frm ch 8 but i forgot wadz his name.. he's eating with his crew i think. the canteen is quite small, with onli ard 7-8 stalls. imagine u had to eat these food everyday, and cant go out to have meals cos the nearest shopping mall or hawker centre is some distance away..! *DIAO

back to office to work on files again then my daddy's fren zhenyi auntie came to find me!! ooo!! i'm so surprised! den i found out tt her office, which is the chinese department, is jus opp to mine! i went over to her office and the ppl there are so friendly, friendlier than those at CNA. and then i oso found out tt my pa was quite popular at their department cos he attended their programmes frequently heee.

2nd day - these 2 days i've been staring at the com for whole day and i think i'm gonna be blind soon. -_- my eyes, are ve ve ve tired! sometimes i jus wished i cld lie and close my eyes for a while. same as 1st day, been dealing with documents and sorting em out.. editing the letters etc etc.

den after lunch auntie toured me ard mediacorp! weeeee!! to studios where they broadcasted the news.. to the tiny room where they control the live programmes.. and to the drama studios where the artistes had their scenes of TV drama filmed! the signboard hanged at the door says "DO NOT ENTER" but we entered anw hehe.. and saw mo xiao ling and lee jing mei acting in the fake "living room". mo xiao ling kept having ngs.. haha. wasnt allowed to take pics so no photos =)

after which, i went back to office n discovered tt i had some idling time cos the person-in-charge was nt there n i had nothing to do. nothing. i cldnt serve net (the connection sot sot de) n i've got no mag or books with me; i ended up playing games Solitaire and drawing n writing stuff on the paper.

3rd day - almost had everything they wanted me to do completed. saw NAT HO during lunchtime!! he's sooo handsome!! but a bit short tho. after lunch got everything done and they say i can leave!! it's onli ard 230pm..? i dunno where to go cos later at night had gathering with poly frens, but in the end i went back hm to slp cos i felt so sleepy.

ok about the job, i dun think i wan it now, at least not in CNA. look, $8/hr for admin job and the same amount of pay for the AP job??? then might as well i do the admin job with the same pay but less work load!!! auntie oso told me tt mediacorp's ve stingy. the pay u got is lil, and u wld not get much even if u stay on longer too! auntie also adviced not to go for the mediacorp if u wan to work on longer basis.. but if it's for fun and interest on short term den it wont hurt trying. mayb i'd go for the drama's AP or wad, at least it's more fun n interesting than at CNA.
